It’s hard to believe that the end of the Scouting year is so close. It just feels like a few weeks ago that we were all at Hazelbank for the district night walk. We have had our last district event of the year with the sports night in Greenisland. We had a good turnout from groups and the Cubs all had a fantastic night. The winners of the sports shield were 1st Islandmagee with 4th Carrickfergus winning the tug of war. I would like to give thanks to Brian Patton and his team from 4th Carrickfergus for organising the evening.
It’s been a busy year for us all and I would like to take this chance to thank each and every one of you for all the hard work and countless hours you put in week in and week out. The excitement and enthusiasm of the Cubs I meet is very evident and they are always keen to show off their knowledge, skills and badges.
Most of you will be taking your Cubs to a summer camp in the coming weeks. Please ensure that you provide the DC with a copy of your NAN and make sure that you have a home contact in place. The summer camp is always the highlight of the year so make sure to get plenty of photographs taken and sent through to Greenseas.
